This is an English translation of the Korean privacy policy. If the two differ, the Korean version prevails.
Billiards Guide (the “app”) takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information the app handles — and what it does not.
Summary — There is no sign-up and the app does not collect information that identifies you. Photos you take or choose are analyzed only on your device and never sent out. To show ads, Google AdMob collects information such as the advertising ID.
1. Information we handle
Information the app itself collects or sends — none
The app has no sign-up and collects no information that identifies you, such as your name, email or phone number.
Information stored only on your device and never sent out
| Item | Purpose | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Photos (table images) | Finding ball positions | Processed on the device only; never sent to or stored on a server |
| Ball layout, table size, handicap setting | Finding paths | On the device |
| Daily free-use count | Usage limit | On the device |
| Practice records (layout, path, made/missed counts) and the dates you opened the daily layout | Showing practice history, stars and streaks | On the device |
| Suggestion results (layout, suggestion, outcome, note) | Improving suggestions | On the device. Sent only when you tap Send, to the app you choose (email or messenger) |
Sharing a layout — when you share a layout, it travels inside the link as a short code. The code sits after the # in the address, so it is never sent to the web server, and neither the app nor the web page stores it.
Photo analysis happens entirely on your device. Photos you take or choose are not uploaded anywhere, and the app does not keep them after the analysis.
Information collected by a third party to show ads
The app shows Google AdMob ads, and Google may collect and use the following:
- Advertising ID
- Device information (model, OS version, etc.)
- Approximate location (country/region level, from the IP address)
- Ad interactions (impressions, clicks)
This information is handled under Google's privacy policy. See the Google Privacy Policy for details.
2. Why we use it
- Showing ads and measuring ad performance (Google AdMob)
- App features — finding ball positions, suggesting paths, managing daily usage, practice records
3. Retention and deletion
- Settings, usage and practice information the app stores on your device are deleted when you delete the app.
- We keep no personal information on any server.
4. Your rights
- Turn off ad personalization — in your device settings (Google › Ads on Android; Privacy & Security › Tracking on iPhone).
- Reset or delete the advertising ID — any time from the same menu.
- Withdraw photo access — in your device's app settings, turn off camera and photo access. Only photo placement stops working; everything else works normally.
- Delete all data — deleting the app deletes everything it stored on your device.
5. Children
The app is not directed to children under 14 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
6. Security
The app does not send personal information to its own server, so there is no risk of leaks in transit. Data on your device is protected from other apps by the operating system's app sandbox. Ad-related traffic is encrypted (HTTPS) by the Google AdMob SDK.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, we will announce it in the app's store release notes and on this page.
